Merry Christmas! Let us remember today to celebrate the reason for the season - the incarnation of God almighty - the birth of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us to this day. Thank you for every gift in our lives that we have to grateful for. And thank you for the best gift of all: Jesus.
O Jesus, at Your birth you showed how far You'd go to find us. You entered into this sinful world to save us from evil and darkness. You humbled Yourself by coming to us in the manger. You allowed Yourself to go unrecognized by the high and mighty so that You would be recognized by the poor and lowly.
Jesus, You are our peace, You are our joy.
With You we have everything. Without You we have nothing.
Help us to recognize this truth today. Help us to look past the chaos and busyness that Christmastime usually brings. Help us today to celebrate the birth of our King.
In your relationships with one another,
have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
Phil 2:5-7
The mystery of the Incarnation is not that God became one of us but the mystery is we become one with God
