Let There Be Light (Gen 1:3)

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light - Gen 1:3

O God,

You are the Father of all creation,

who spoke the universe into being.

You said, "Let there be light"

and there was.

In the same way - at the appointed time

You lifted the veil from the eyes of man

and revealed Yourself to this dark world.

You illuminated our souls

and enlightened our minds.

You called us out of darkness

and into Your glorious light.

O Jesus, You are the Light of this world

You are the lamp unto our feet

May your light shine ever so brightly in our lives,

Illuminating and eradicating the darkness around us

while magnifying and glorifying the Christ within us.

God is light

in him there is no darkness at all
