My son be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings - Proverbs 4:20
Father in Heaven,
Before the beginning of time, you spoke into the nothingness,
"Let there be light,"
and there was.
That Divine Word still reverberates throughout all of creation,
and resonates in every ear able to hear.
And so we ask you O God,
make our ears those which hear.
We know you have spoken.
We know you are speaking now.
We know your Word echoes through Eternity.
We know that your sheep hear your voice,
and that you have called us to lie down in your green pastures.
Father, we ask in the name of Jesus
Give us a humble heart.
Grant us a quiet mind.
Grace us with a patient spirit.
Make us slow to speak and quick to listen.
Enable us to hear your voice in the midst of this noisy world.
May our ears incline to none but the Good Shepherd.
And may we follow His voice no matter where it leads.

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105
