I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. - John 17:20-21
Father in heaven, we agree with this prayer of your Son Jesus.
We pray for your church throughout the entire world.
Let your word be fulfilled and let us all be united to each other in you.
Let us all keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Cornerstone of the church.
You said that our unity would be a sign to the world that you truly have been sent by the Father.
When the world sees a divided church they are blinded from seeing its divine origin. When they see a united church, they see You.
But at the same time, we must not compromise the truth. Light can have no fellowship with darkness. Truth can have no fellowship with falsehood.
We cannot shy away from speaking the truth even when it means discomfort or persecution.
Give us the wisdom to know when to boldly stand firm on doctrinal convictions and when to yield in humility to mystery.
May your church zealously pursue both Truth and Unity in a spirit of love and faith.
And in all that we do, let us never waver in our declaration of Jesus Christ as Lord.

Jesus said to him,
'I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me'
John 14:6
