The Secret Place (Matt 6:6)

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. - Matt 6:6

Holy Spirit, You have made our bodies Your temple.

There is nowhere we can go where You are not.

Help us God, to remember Your indwelling presence.

Remind us of Your nearness.

Because You dwell within us, we need only to retreat within ourselves to find You.

In this place is perfect peace and the fullness of joy.

Lord, call us to this place every day. Let us hunger and thirst for it.

Holy Spirit, we ask you to convict us when we are neglecting this time with You.

Let us desire nothing more than to encounter You in the secret place.

You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence

From the plots of man;

You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion

From the strife of tongues
